Maharashtra State Pharmacy Council (MSPC) is a statutory body constituted by the Government Of Maharashtra under the provisions of the Pharmacy Act 1948 (a central Act) consisting of 6 members elected by Registered Pharmacists amongst themselves, five members nominated by Government Of Maharashtra, one member elected by Maharashtra Medical Council and three Ex-Officio Members. Functioning of MSPC is in accordance with said Act and Rules framed by Maharashtra government that is Maharashtra State Pharmacy Council Rules 1969. Maharashtra State Pharmacy Council came into existence on 1.09.1964.
The prime function of the Maharashtra State Pharmacy Council is to grant registration to the eligible applicants complying with the provisions of section 32(2) of the Pharmacy Act and to enforce the necessary provisions of the Pharmacy Act 1948. Presently there are more than 3 lac 80,000 registered pharmacists on records of MSPC. In Maharashtra there are more than 400 D pharm colleges and more than 200 B pharm colleges, few Pharm D colleges approved by PCI, New Delhi. Applicants passing from these colleges apply to MSPC on its online portal.
Maharashtra State Pharmacy Council has office premises at Mulund West, Mumbai. MSPC has its own website www.mspcindia.org. Process of registration, renewal and allied processes are made online offering convenience of online submission of form, documents and remittance of online fees by applicants.
